Sumeru or Meru , the only one inhabited with humans identical to us. The only question was how much of it was taken up by India. Indeed, India was once an island in the Mesozoic Ocean, but it moved north and collided with Asia. In Chinese, we get various ways of referring to India. History[ edit ] Towrang bridge of The coast of New South Wales from the Queensland border to the Victorian border is separated from the inland by an escarpment , forming the eastern edge of the Great Dividing Range. There are few easy routes up this escarpment. To climb from the coast to the tablelands the Hume Highway uses the Bargo Ramp, a geological feature which provides one of the few easy crossings of the escarpment. In the first twenty years of European settlement at Sydney established , exploration southwest of Sydney was slow.
This area was heavily wooded at the time, especially the ” Bargo brush “, which was regarded as almost impenetrable. Any settlement would have to await the construction of an adequate access track, which would have been beyond the colony’s resources at the time, and would have served little purpose as a source of supplies for Sydney, due to the time taken to reach Sydney.

France Most French wines are everyday vins ordinaires, of no outstanding regional, varietal, or vintage characteristics. To receive any of these successively more rigorous appellations, wines must be produced within specific areas and must meet standards of grape variety, alcoholic content, quantity of harvest, and techniques of vine growing and wine making. Bordeaux wines are mainly red and dry except for those of the district of Sauternes, which are white and sweet.

DRAF presents its 11th annual Evening of Performances, at s Art Deco music venue the O2 Forum Kentish Town, with an exciting programme of live works that range across performance art, spoken word, dance, comedy and music. The evening presents eight new commissions and a UK premiere by international artists responding to the theme of intimacy. Each artistic contribution brings forward a new reading and experience, charging the venue with different physical, sensual and intellectual approaches.
A wide array of artistic positions take stage throughout the evening, expanding from the personal to the collective, exploring the ways in which people connect to one another. Artist duos Tate n Lyle and Das Hund incorporate additional performers to examine and express the role of the social and political in personal interactions. Intimacy is the quality of close relationships between subjects, which may be physical and bodily, however not necessarily sexual. Each deeper connection creates more room to grow, more to lose and more to become. The human condition, in that regard, relies on the willingness to transcend individual boundaries, and the urge to multiply ways of being in order to have meaningful encounters.
Individuals engaged with acts of care, trust and love are invested in the transactions of desire. The programme at O2 Forum Kentish Town, responds to the various forms and powers of intimacy and its role in understanding and relating to the world around us. The event is free to the public, and coincides with Frieze London. Her reading takes the form of a sleep journey, with pitfalls and peaks, her voice rising and falling at an unexpected pace.

A summary of cyclone-associated deposits in the Great Barrier Reef published by Larcombe and Carter [ Cyclone pumping, sediment partitioning and the development of the Great Barrier Reef shelf system: Quaternary Science Reviews 23, pp. In this paper, we describe the geomorphology of reef talus deposits found in the Gulf of Carpentaria and Arafura Sea, Australia, that we attribute to tropical cyclones.
The orientation of these deposits is also indicative of a consistent, along-coast transport pathway. An explanation for the consistent along-coast cyclone transport pathway is presented based on previously published hydrodynamic modelling results. These models illustrate how currents generated by the passage of a cyclone are asymmetric in plan view, such that stronger flows are generated between the eye of the cyclone and the coast. The result of the passage of many cyclones over geologic timescales is a net along-coast sediment transport pathway located on the inner- to mid-shelf, possibly extending over the entire length of northern Australia’s coastline.
This process provides an explanation for the observed sediment transport patterns on modern tropical continental shelves, as well as a basis for the interpretation of ancient tropical shelf deposits. Previous article in issue.
